How satellites can secure attacks by drones and marine missiles

By Dr Kayyali Mohamed, KSF Space Foundation

Drones have many uses, including delivering packages, performing surveillance and targeting military installations. However, their use as a mass-production item has had many negative consequences. One of these consequences is the difficulty in countering the drones once they’re in the air. Satellites relay information about the location, condition and movement of target areas to military personnel down on the ground. This allows soldiers to counter drone attacks with minimal effort. Additionally, this information is crucial in helping soldiers avoid civilian casualties during military operations.

Satellites allow military personnel to counter military drone attacks with minimal effort. These are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or remote-controlled aerial vehicles (RCAVs). This information is essential for countering attacks launched by these vehicles. First, military personnel identify an area where a drone is being used. Then, they obtain information from space about the location, condition and movement of various targets. Using this information, soldiers can then direct aerial attack platforms to target specific areas on the ground. This allows soldiers to counter military drone attacks with minimal effort.

If you’ve ever seen Star Wars , you probably remember how devastating a star destroyer’s laser cannons were in space. The same thing goes for space in terms of countering UAVs and RCAs with little effort. First, military personnel identify an area where a drone is being used. Then, they send up a satellite to photograph the area. Photographs taken by that satellite allow military personnel to accurately determine the exact location of the drones they’re trying to destroy. After that, they send up a missile or fighter jet to destroy the target area from above. The collision from an aerial attack platform’s explosion also does considerable damage on the ground, which makes it even more effective in neutralizing drones .

Although destroying drones from above is easy, destroying them from below is also very effective. Drones themselves aren’t very strong or durable; they’re just machines after all . However, their control centers are located below ground so that soldiers can remotely pilot them from afar . Therefore, it’s important that any targets destroyed by UAVs are also destroyed from below-ground . Otherwise, drones can be re-armed and put back into operation without much effort by their operators .

Neutralizing UAVs is much easier than doing so without space data. Therefore, having satellites around has obvious advantages when it comes to fighting off UAVs and RCAs . Satellites provide accurate information about target areas that can help soldiers counter hostile actions taken by hostile nations or groups . Furthermore, they allow military jets or missiles to target specific areas on the ground while avoiding civilian casualties .
